Today we went to the Norfolk Boat Jumble and had limited success. I bought the hose for the bilge pump, jubilee clips, anti slip matting, rope for lifebouy, boathook and two fenders and a gas lighter. But I failed in the dinghy purchase. Jane had a go at bartering on an inflatable. But with three patches and new inflatables going for £195 maybe the biggest mistake was not buying them as they are being sold for Norfolk marine for £349! Still you learn at these events!
Then off to the Galley for lunch but poor service today. We left quickly and Jane dropped me of at the boat whilst she went to Roys. I painted the front decks and side non slip, but the wind was strongly blowing. It's the first time I've painted by holding the brush still and used the boats backwards and forwards motion to move the paint!
There wasn't room to turn the boat around so the decks are not fully painted. At least the worst is done and flaking material removed. I fitted the bilge pump pipe but not the bilge pump. The bilge pump now needs wiring in.
Jane came to pick me up. The wind was still strengthening and to hard to carry on working.
We went to Roys to use the toilets to clean up. And bought some chips to have with a picnic on Horning Staithe. Then back to Roys for a cup of tea before setting of for home.
